FOOTBALL ROUND UP
Saturday 1 March
v First XI
Winchmore Hill's poor league form continued with a 1 - 0 reverse
at Civil Service to leave the 'flagship of the Hill' at rock bottom
of Division One of the SAL on Saturday.
Despite having the majority of the possession and territory, putting
the ball into the net was not on the agenda. Chances were created
The only goal of the game was a disaster for keeper Chevaun Kerr who
must have taken his eyes off the ball as it was slowly rolling
towards him, He fluffed it and the ball rolled slowly into the
bottom corner to lift the Servants from the bottom of the league
With the AFA Senior Cup Semi Final next week, we shall have to play
much better than our performance on Saturday.
Third XI v Civil Service
The Third XI, 'Farmed out' for the day day did not produce their
usual form and the two sides played out a scoreless draw.
Old Finchleians v Fourth XI
The bubble has burst and the Fab Fours lost their 100% winning
record for the season, going down 6 - 4 in the Semi Final of the AFA
Senior Novets Cup. Goalscorers at present not known.
v Old Parkonians (Double Header)
Playing on the centre pitch at The Paulin the end result was a win
for each side. The Hill won the first match 2 - 1 with a Mark
Barrell strike and an own goal and Parks won the second match 3 - 1
with Femi Fujemade scoring both goals for the Hill.
The Sixes beat local rivals Broomfield 4 - 3. Scorers not known at
Seventh XI v EBOG
The Sevens won by the odd goal in five to EBOG. Ed Munoz and Matt
Cook 2 got the goals..
v South Bank Cuaco
The Eights were knocked out of the SAL Cup 6 - 1 by SB Cuaco 5s at
The Paulin. As usual I have no idea who scored!
v Alexandra Park
Ninth XI beat AP 2 - 0 with goals from Kaffash and Matt Salt (with a
deflection which the dubious goals panel will obviously look into).
Bottom pitch at The
Paulin, 10.30am Christmas Eve, and it's raining now!
