2010-2011
Dear All,
The new season will soon be upon us. For those of you who have being playing
in the summer leagues, I expect you fitness levels are quite high but, for
the rest of us, some work will be required before our league matches get
under way. To help all of you, fitness training is held every Tuesday at
Winchmore Hill C.C. between 7.30 & 8.30pm. The sessions are taken by a
qualified fitness coach, with all levels of fitness catered for.

Social events are important to our section to help raise funds towards our

the members from others sections of the club. Please do your best to support
these events and volunteer your help whenever possible – even a little
counts! Try to bring some of your non-hockey playing friends along too.

New Members
At the end of each season we lose a few players to further education, work
or relocation, so it is important that we all make an effort to recruit new
players to the club – that means players of all levels, as we are committed
to fielding 8 teams every week.
Please use all your powers of persuasion to get more players to join our
club. For example, would it be possible to advertise the club in your
workplace’s newsletter? If any member has any bright ideas on player
recruitment, please give me or Lindsey Brackey a call.
Communications
For a number of seasons we have tried to make all our communications with
members via the electronic media. This letter is no exception.
Remarkably, the entire Vet’s team is online (they don’t like being called
‘silver surfers’ though!) but there may be other players in the club who are
not. If someone you know isn’t online, or has changed their email address,
please contact Gemma Burd
gemmaburd@hotmail.com
or, if you require a hard copy contact Andy Adams on, 07740 683 615.
That’s all for now, I hope you will all try do your bit to help the club
have a good year both on and off the field and if you have any ideas that
may help the club please talk to a member of the committee.
Have a good season.
Andy Adams
Chairman
A very warm welcome to
Winchmore Hill CC Hockey Section.
Our aim and purpose is to offer a section that plays a good and enjoyable
standard of hockey. We welcome members of all ages and abilities as the
standard of hockey across our teams is varied.
On Saturdays we field 5 men's and 3 ladies' teams with some mixed games on a
Sunday. Plus Junior coaching on Sunday mornings.
Our Men's teams play in the East League and Ladies in Middlesex leagues. In
the leagues the team is known as Winchmore Hill & Enfield to reflect the
joining of the two clubs for the 2003/04 season.
We run a great youth section for boys and girls ages 6-17 on a Sunday
morning at Southbury Leisure Centre. Why not bring your children along,
no experience necessary.
WE OFFER THE FIRST WEEK'S TRAINING FOR FREE!
Senior and Junior players of all abilities are welcome to join our club.
We are a section of a fantastic sports club on extensive grounds in N21 that
has it’s own Astroturf Multi Use Games Area (MUGA).
We thrive on the fact that we all play our hockey with passion and
commitment while never losing sight of enjoying it too.
